Raising Fillets

NapperRedman raising fillets are being used around the world, finishing a wide variety of fabrics. Due to the extensive variables that affect face finishing, we believe that the raising wire must be tailored to meet each customer’s need in order to achieve the desired affect. Wire size, foundation, angles, points per square inch, and type of grind are all very critical to the performance of each raising fillet and must be combined specifically for each type of fabric.

Before recommending specific raising fillets, it is critical that we see the type of fabric being processed both before finishing and, if possible, with the desired affect. It is also helpful to know the type of raising machine being used including the running mode (knit good, double action, or single action), the number of rolls (pile and counterpile), as well as the diameter and width of the rolls.

After recommendation, we offer test processing on one of our 45" 12 roll sample raising machines at our factory. Customers may send their fabric to us, which we will then process on our recommended wire specification allowing visible results prior to purchase.

We believe it is critical to match the raising fillet to the fabric for optimum results.

Tiger Brushes

As with raising fillets, tiger brushes can be constructed in a multitude of specifications. Variables include wire size, foundation type, angle of protrusion, existence and location of knee bend as well as overall height.

Once again, it is extremely helpful to have fabric samples as well as machine type and layout to help us design a brush to achieve desired results.

Fancy Brushes

Often hidden and sometimes neglected, the fancy brush is often the most important and critical factor to successful raising. Whether continuously wrapped (knit goods) or attached to opposing slats (double and single action), it is imperative to keep the fancy wire in good working condition to promote effective cleaning and conditioning of the raising wire. Though specifications do not vary as widely as with raising or tiger wire, it is necessary to match the correct fancy to the machine design and current raising wire specification. This information is necessary for proper recommendation.

Pull Roll Wire

Redman pull roll wire is designed to give effective "grab" combined with easy release without damage to the fabric. Designed to be used in all "take off" applications, specifications can be altered to adjust strength and aggressiveness. Machine layout information combined with substrate samples will allow us to make the correct specification selection.
